Giacomo

Giacomo is about 6 months old and is very lively. He loves company and to play, which can be a bit difficult at times because he lives in an apartment and is alone for most of the day. Young cats need lots of exercise, are very curious and may get frustrated if kept indoor all day. Giacomo gets to play with the family he lives with in the mornings, so he will be tired when everybody goes out to work or school and will happily sleep for most of the day. In the evenings he gets more playtime getting  him tired and ready for a good night sleep.

Giacomo is very curious. He sneaks behind every piece of furniture and climbs everywhere he imagines he could get a better view of the territory... This means that at times he knocks things off shelves. A few things have broken but nobody gets upset with him because a cat does not do it on purpose. However all the precious and fragile objects have now been moved to less precarious places.

Like all young cats, Giacomo likes also to wake up early in the morning. At around five o'clock he is up and running, climbing, growling to his imaginary friends and waking up the household. Being very active is natural for a cat and  it is pointless to get upset with him. Instead, before going to bed, his family places some exciting toys on the floor for him to play. These will keep him entertained and away from scratching at doors or sofas. Different toys are left for him for his day activities... this also may keep him away from scratching at the sofa while nobody is around to keep watch.

Giacomo is a funny  and very clever cat, but besides climbing, running and chasing, Giacomo also likes to lie down with his human friends for a good cuddle. He then purrs loudly with happiness.

Always remember that:

cats can be very defensive when with their kittens,

pulling a cat's tail or ears is not a game any cat will ever enjoy,

when a cat is scared or annoyed it may react and hurt you,

a playful cat may scratch and bite  you,

it is not safe to carry more than one kitten at a time.
